BAYHYDROL U 2787 is an aliphatic, hydroxyfunctional polycarbonate ester-polyurethane dispersion that provides formulators with a binder for developing water-reducible soft-feel coatings. As a 41% aqueous dispersion of BAYHYDROL U 2787 exhibits high shear stability and hydrolysis resistance, making it well-suited for applications that require a soft, tactile surface. The product can be combined with flexible polyurethane dispersions like BAYHYDROL UH 340/1 and UH XP 2660 to create coatings with a smooth, suede-like handfeel. These coatings deliver chemical resistance and durability suitable for the construction industry while maintaining an attractive, comfortable touch. Formulated coatings based on BAYHYDROL U 2787 can be applied via conventional spraying methods, then dried quickly at 80°C to provide a low-cost alternative for enhancing surface aesthetics and functionality.
